Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan Services

  • Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan Services are a research-support service through which materials not held by our library may be obtained from other libraries.
  • This service is offered to eligible academic/research members who can take advantage of the library's online DD & ILL request service after first completing the online pre-registration form. Printed form is also available and one form should be completed for each item.
  • In order to speed up the process, please provide the bibliographic citation for each request as completely and accurately as possible.
  • We make every effort to process your requests in a timely fashion. Normally we are able to obtain most materials in 15 working days. Items requested from overseas library usually take longer. However, if your request is urgent, please consult the relevant staff for special arrangement and kindly understand that only journal articles, dissertations/theses, and some books are available through the service.


New Book Display in Library

  • Newly acquired and catalogued books are regularly placed on the display shelves.
  • With the exception of reference books carrying the prefixes of "R", all displayed items may be borrowed as general books.
  • You may also view the list of new titles added each month by perusing the "New Book List" on the library home page.


Recommendation on New Acquisitions

  • Teaching staffs are encouraged to make recommendations for the purchase of books, audio-visual materials and periodical subscriptions, within the budget allotment and course requirement through the library coordinator of each department or the liaison librarians.
  • Recommendations should be sent to the acquisition department.
  • Other users are also welcome to suggest new titles for the library to acquire by using the "Online New Book Recommendation Form".


Photocopying & Stored-Value Cards

  • Card-operated photocopying machines are available on each floor of the library.
  • You can purchase stored-value cards from the sales counter located in General Reading Room on the fifth floor.
  • NOTE ; Please be reminded that you are required to observe the Copyright Ordinance pertaining to photocopying practices.

User Education services

  • In addition to providing online information and reference services, the library offers an active education program designed to introduce and facilitate the use of library resources. You are encouraged to take advantage of the array of user education programs so that you can make optimal use of the resources and services offered by the library. More importantly, you can acquire invaluable life-long information seeking skills. Library offerings include:
A) Library Orientation Programs
  • Library tours guided by experienced staff members are organized for new students and staff every year at the beginning of the first semester to introduce them to the collections, facilities and services of the library.
B) Basic Library Instruction Workshops
  • Basic Library Instruction Workshops, as a part of the University Life Unit, are conducted for all year academic members. The workshops, which provide hands-on practice, cover the basic library skills related to information retrieval from CD-ROMs and online databases.
C) Advanced Library Instruction Workshops
  • Under special arrangement and support of faculty members, the Library offers subject-based library workshops to undergraduate and graduate students to meet their needs for course-specific information.
  • The contents cover advanced search strategies of the online/CD-ROM databases, and other reference materials relevant to their course and/or class assignments. Special library services such as Interlibrary Loan Service and access to other libraries and research centers are also introduced. Faculty members are welcome to contact the relevant division in charge of the user education for further details and arrangement of workshops.
D) Open Workshops
  • Workshops open to faculty, staff and students are held from time to time to promote the use of library resources. Please keep in touch with the "What's New" on the library home page for announcement.


Special Collections & Archives Services

  • The Special Collections and Archives of Dong-eui University Library collect, preserve, organize, and make accessible for scholarly research, sources of unique or specialized collections.
  • Most of the materials are kept in stacks for special purposes, but you are more than welcome to use the materials in the relevant division during our opening hours.
  • Among them, definitely the University Archives serve as the repository for the historical records of Dong-eui University and support scholars, faculty, and students pursuing research on the history of the university.
  • Through the collecting of university publications and records of enduring historical value, the archives documents have been significantly devoted to the activities and history of the academic and administrative units, and student associations, as well as notable campus events. Our holdings include Dong-eui University publications, anniversary materials, minutes, and etc.

Introduction of Foreign Publishers & Academic Press

  • Recently, Central Library has particularly developed the home page aiming to introduce the latest books and journals of superior quality issued from abroad that contributes significantly to the progress of research/learning and enhances internal/external linking facilities.
  • Also, vital to our primary mission is to provide the sophisticated informations concerning foreign issuing materials for university community including;
  • Students, who use them in their studies.
  • Faculty members & Professionals, who consult them to keep abreast of rapidly changing fields.
  • General readers, who find in them enjoyment as well as enlightenment.
  • To best achieve our mission, we are now continuously seeking out the foreign publishers and academic press that are innovate/diverse, and that embrace both traditional and newer modes of scholarly communications.
